Periodontal Services in Madison, WI
Periodontal disease is an infection that leads to losing the tissue and bone that support the teeth. Left untreated, periodontal disease often leads to tooth loss.
Dr. Hill and the hygienists at Madison Lakes Dental are committed to helping you understand the warning signs of periodontal disease and the treatments available to manage this disease.
Regular dental cleanings can significantly reduce the risk of periodontal disease. As a standard part of each cleaning, your hygienist will:
- Measure the pocket depth around each of your teeth
- Evaluate bleeding and inflammation
- Use digital imaging to evaluate bone health
Information gathered by your hygienist is shared with you to give you a full understanding of the health of your mouth.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Periodontal disease can be treated and managed in our office. Scaling and Root Planning procedures are often recommended for patients exhibiting signs of periodontal disease. This non-surgical procedure is performed with a local anesthetic and removes bacteria and deposits contributing to periodontal disease. Our office is one of few in Wisconsin that offers the PerioLase laser, which allows us to do periodontal surgery without scalpels and sutures. There is no downtime! This laser allows us to use biostimulation to reduce any discomfort.
The hygienists will explain every step of the process and work closely with you to manage the disease to keep your teeth for life. If you have concerns about your gum health, don’t delay–request an evaluation right away.
